Why Worms?

Red Wiggler Worms

Eisenia fetida aka “Red Wigglers” are a species of earthworm specifically adapted to consuming decaying organic matter. These powerhouse compost-crunchers can process half of their weight per day. This means that every few days, a pound of worms will process about a pound of decaying organic matter!

We hot-compost material before feeding it to our worms, allowing them to break this material down further into castings. These castings are nutritionally-dense soil amendments for home gardens and houseplants.

Given the ideal conditions, Red Wigglers will reproduce at a rapid rate. We began with just a pound of worms and now have countless worms wiggling and composting!
